WHEELING-NIPPON STEEL's galvanized steel coating is one of the most effective and economical methods of protecting bare steel from a corrosive environment. The zinc coating serves as a barrier between the steel and the environment, as it will sacrifice itself to protect the underlying steel sheet from corrosion-causing factors.
WHEELING-NIPPON STEEL minimized spangle is known in the steel industry for its excellent paintable, flat, uniform spangle-free surface. WHEELING-NIPPON STEEL's state-of-the-art multi-pot AGL coating line provides the capability to produce a wide range of sizes, coating weights, and steel grades.
In addition to galvanized metal sheets, we also offer a Galvanized Plus product with an acrylic coating applied to the sheet. This added coating offers additional corrosion resistance, eliminates the need for oil during rollforming, eliminates finger printing during handling, and many other advantages.
All our after treatment options can be offered as RoHs compliant. Please inquire for additional information.

Our galvanized metal sheets are a great all-around steel product, giving reliable corrosion resistance for a wide variety of uses as listed below. While it may not be comparable in paintability, when comparing galvanized vs. galvannealed steel, or have the same long-term corrosion resistance as ZAM®, galvanized steel sheets are a crucial product for industries where corrosion resistance matters, but stainless steel would be too costly. Galvanized steel sheets are an excellent benchmark in terms of durability and corrosion resistance, but for highly demanding applications, ZAM® or Galvanized Plus may be better options.
Our galvanized steel sheets are known for their outstanding flatness, a "no spangle" surface, and excellent drawability.
While both galvanized and Galvanized Plus come with a no-spangle zinc coating, Galvanized Plus goes beyond this by applying an acrylic coating after the zinc, creating a more durable corrosion barrier than would be possible with zinc alone.
A "no spangle" surface refers to a uniform finish without the typical crystallized pattern seen on some galvanized steels. This smooth appearance is often preferred for aesthetic reasons and provides a better surface for painting or coating.
Galvanized steel sheets are versatile and used in various industries, including construction, automotive, HVAC, and appliance manufacturing. Their corrosion resistance and formability make them ideal for products like roofing, siding, ductwork, and structural components.
While galvanized steel provides excellent corrosion resistance and formability, Wheeling-Nippon Steel also offers other coated products like Galvalume®, Galvannealed, and ZAM®. Each has unique properties tailored to specific applications and performance requirements.
Safety data sheets for galvanized steel and other products are available on our website for your use. These documents provide detailed information on handling, storage, and safety precautions in reference to the materials used to coat each product we offer.
